Valuation

Submission — one asset list sent for valuation, normally corresponding to one loan. Everything that follows hangs off it.

VSA number — Valuation Service Agreement number. Assigned when a submission is created, and the reference for the valuation, the contract, and every amendment to it. A re-run keeps the same number; a renewal gets a new one that references the old.

Asset type — the category of collateral. Determines how it is priced and, in some cases, what contract terms are available.

Valuation table — the per-asset breakdown of a completed valuation, showing the three figures below.

Barkr Valuation Price — what Barkr assesses the asset to be worth. The figure the warranty stands behind.

Barkr Max Payout — the ceiling on what Barkr would pay out for that asset under the warranty. Not necessarily equal to the Valuation Price.

Barkr Fee — the cost of the warranty for that asset.

Warranty — Barkr’s undertaking behind the price. If a covered asset sells for less than the Barkr Valuation Price, Barkr pays the shortfall, up to the Max Payout.

Re-run — fresh pricing for a submission that went Inactive. Keeps the original VSA number.

Version history — on a re-run submission, the Latest and Version 1 toggles that let you compare the new valuation against the original.

Contracts

Contract term — how long cover runs. 3, 6, 9 or 12 months, or 2 to 5 years on depreciating asset classes.

Payment plan — Pay in Full, Quarterly or Monthly. Server-level pricing is always Pay in Full.

Amendment — a change to a live contract, adding or removing assets. Recorded in the contract’s amendment timeline.

Renewal — a new contract carrying cover forward past an end date. Priced fresh and issued with a new VSA number.

Approved platform — a marketplace Barkr has approved for sale of covered assets. Has to be agreed before signing; raise any additions in the notes when you accept pricing.

BoldSign — the e-signature service Barkr agreements are signed through. You sign first, Barkr countersigns.

Statuses

Submissions: Submitted · Under Review · In Progress · Insufficient Data · Ready · Contracted · Inactive.

Contracts: Pending signature · Active · Expiring · Expired · Cancelled · Declined.

Each is explained in How a valuation works.

Depreciating assets

Depreciation schedule — the year-by-year curve a depreciating asset is valued against, which is why those contracts carry a figure per year rather than one for the term.

Server-level pricing — valuing racked or clustered hardware as a system rather than per unit. Always Pay in Full.

Full-term total — on a depreciation-derived asset list, a total covering the whole contract rather than a single year.

Two that are easy to confuse

Re-run Renewal
Applies to An Inactive submission An Expiring contract
Because Pricing lapsed before you accepted it Cover is reaching its end date
VSA number Keeps the original New one, referencing the old
